I don't know, this seems something like a good sign, at least she believes in equality even if it doesn't benefit her. (so many people, even adults, could learn from this) Course i'm not a parent, nor paying your bills either.

My daughter is 10, fixing to be 11.
I set the ground rules with her right away.
If it's not on my list, we will not get it. However, if it's something she REALLY REALLY REALLY wants, put it on her own list, that we use for her savings/birthday/christmas wish list.
It works well, and there are no fits.
Quit buying her everything...you're trying to be her friend and not her mom...that's the one thing that gets a lot of parents in trouble.
Nip it in the bud now, before it turns ugly.

Do you mean to say she gets upset if you don't buy her "brother" something? If so, she seems like a good kid.
Anyway, she's reaching a tough age for you and for her (especially for her--she's going through many physical and mental changes and has so many pressures on her).
Please stay patient and remember to tell her you love her everyday. And tell her brother too.

You dont buy her/him anything. You go to the store with a list. Anything asked for you tell your child "Oh thats very nice, but it isnt on the list". Let your child help you shop and get the stuff that IS on the list. Dont buy them something every store visit.

I'm assuming you are meaning Brother... go ahead and get her brother something... reinforcing that she not selfish and doesn't just think of herself... is a good thing... I would be proud of her... and let her brother know that she thought of him ... also reinforcing him ro realize that she thinks of him and mayce he'll pick up on such a wonderful trait....

Awww.....that's sweet....Most kids wouldn't care....It shows that she really loves her brother and don't want him to be left out either...You are very lucky to have a child like her!!!It shows that she ain't greedy or stingy and that she cares about others....You have to respect that....I know I would....This may not be the answer you looking for, but I just had to comment on it!!!

you really have to put your foot down, use something she doesnt like against her or something she does like
eg. if she likes chocolate, say to her before you get out of the car, if you are good (name) i will bye you a chocolate, if you are bad (name) when we get home you will go straight to your room and you wont be a load to whatch tv play with your friends etc.... it worked for my autistic duaghter who used to have tanties all the time, i was so embarrassed but now she is an angle
good luck

You should be thankful, she is not selfish. She wants her brother to know he is loved and cared for just as much as she is and does not ever want him to feel left out.
