True. Islamic troops only reached China.
Indonesia is the country with most muslims in the planet. Islam was introduced to Indonesia by sufism Islamic mysticism, and therefore, peaceful.
Ignorant christians don't want to understand that we muslims are friends.

I don't think anyone is saying that Islam spread ONLY by the sword. Yet the truth is that in the history of Islam beginnings, aggressive advancement into the Byzantine and surrounding countries like Africa and Egypt were via military threats or invasions. Islam wasn't completely spread by the sword. Muslims will say that it was never done this way, but I think history proves that there has been some bloodshed in its name. No religion is safe from bloodshed in their religion.
I'm sorry to do this in your question, but to address "marissa"'s answer...... even if your view on how Europe was, is correct, that doesn't necessarily mean things were "better". Take Iraq for example, most would say that Saddam Hussein was a horrible man who killed many innocent people, but he kept that country in line because he ruled with an iron fist (and tons of bloodshed), now America has put their hands in it (for whatever reasons people want to believe) and it's complete chaos.

1st of all 1400 yrs back the world looked much different than it is now. it wasnt so wide spread and also Islam was spread to Malaysia, Indonesia and Africa by Sufis. and people are fools to beleive that Islam spreads through sword. it is only with Allah's will and persons acceptance can they be Muslims. people converted by force into Islam are not Muslims even if they prefer to call themselves one.

Yes. Islam spread throughout the world because it made sense (with God's will) to the people who were introduced to it at that time...
From the book "Historical Atlas of Islam" (ISBN 0-674-01385-9) - p.30:
"Many factors, however, encouraged conversion after the initial conquests. For those Christians who were tired of centuries of erudite theological wranglings over the precise balance between Christ's divine and human natures, Islam provided the hospitality of a religion in which Christ had an honored place as a forerunner to Muhammad. Likewise for Jews Islam could appear as a reformed faith in the tradition of Abraham and Moses."
God (SWT) says to Muhammad (PBUH) in the Qur'an:

Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance.

Islam divides the world into dar al-Islam (the house of peace) and dar al-Harb (the house of war). To bring "peace," Allah commands, "I shall cast terror into the hearts of the infidels. (8:13); Slay the idolaters wherever you find them...(9:5); O Prophet, struggle with the unbelievers and hypocrites and be thou harsh with them...(9:73); Believers, make war on the infidels that dwell around you..." (9:123). Perpetual jihad is commanded until all the world is under sharia. Nor would that bring peace, because Muslims fight among themselves, as history testifies.
The fourth and last of the "rightly guided" caliphs was Ali, Muhammads cousin and son-in-law. Accused of complicity in Uthmans murder, he never fully established his rule. Aisha supported a rebellion against him, resulting in the Battle of the Camel in which 10,000 were killed. Ali won, but was murdered in 661.

Fool! Arab traders would only trade with fellow muslims. Business people at these places converted to islam to benefit monetarily. See the havoc their descendents cause now in southern Thailand, Java, and all over Malaysia. Burn the koran and reject its fascist military ideology and save humanity!
