Ok, you can't get rid of split ends without cutting them. So if you have them, get em trimmed. After you can help PREVENT them from reaccuring.
there are many ways to prevent hair damage, these I recommend:
1. Use a Anti-Breakage Shampoo and Conditioner, I use Tresemme.
2. If you iron/curl your hair use a Heat Tamer spray to prevent further breakage. (Once again, I use Tresemme) : )
3. Never brush your hair with a brush when your hair is wet. Comb it with a wide-toothed comb.
4. If you blowdry your hair keep it at a cool setting.
5. Don't use rubberbands that are tight-tight.
6. Take a multi-vitaman for healthy strong hair.
This will help prevent hair damage.

How to Get Rid of Split Ends

2006-10-12 15:29:34 · answer #3 · answered by Anonymous · 0 1

No.. You can try every shampoo, conditioner or chemical known to man..They will not take care of your split ends as promised..In order to have healthy hair you should get them cut off every few months..Your hair will grow instead of breaking off..You lose 100's of strands of hair a day and more if you have split ends...

No. All that BS they sell on the market is a scam. Get rid of em by cutting em off. You can prevent split ends by getting a trim often and combing/brushing your hair gently. I have hair down to the middle of my back and plan to keep growing it down to my butt or my knees, I see splits every now and then and I cut em. It's the only way.

My stylist seems to think that the products he pushes on me will repair damaged hair but I had always heard that hair is dead and you can't repair it. I still buy the crap and have noticed an improvement but I'm also getting cut every 7 weeks and I used to go months without a trim. I use Bumble and Bumble. It's expensive!

Nope! Cut it immediately ! Your hair will look beautiful only when it's healthy, and it will only be healthy if you cut them monthly, if you don't abuse with hair colors or perms , and if you take good care of them. So don't be afraid of the scissors! There's nothing uglier than a girl with split ends! Oh and one more thing: believe it or not your hair will grow faster if you cut them regularly. I hope I helped. :D

redkin has a product called 'extreme' that helps fix and prevent splits and breakage. I use it. I didnt cut my hair for 13 yrs and it never got longer. splits and breaks kept it at the same length. I've used it for 4 months and my hair actually grows fast. 4" who knew. Good luck.

no, you can prevent split ends after you get your hair cut...but you need to take care of your hair...use salon shampoo and conditioner...if you curl it or straighten it you need to use a heat or style protector...just take care of it...but if you already have split ends there is no way to get rid of them without cutting it..
