My fellow yahooists. I have now come to the conclusion that I am not alone in this. Thanks for the replies. I enjoyed reading them. I have to come clean on this that the "puppy" to whch I'm referring is actually a 7 year old mad German Shepherd. I luv her to pieces tho.

You are not mad, i say i am my hamsters mummy, and whenever my boyfriend is over i say daddy wants to hold you "sad i know" but you are your puppy's daddy and will be throughout its whole life.
my mum also says that her cat is her baby, i mean he will lie on his back though as if he is a baby, and she does wrap him up whenever he comes in from the rain.

We're mummy and daddy to our kitten, sadly we did not feel the same urge to adopt our African Land Snail into the family, he is merely a permanant guest!

Hello Miserable Sinna.
Be your puppy's daddy if you want to. You are in a way as pack leader. Tell you what though, between you and me, my stepmother takes this concept one step further and refers to her dogs not only as her babies but as my brother and sister.
She is normal in nearly every other way.

I call my pets our 4 legged children in our home and I refer to me and hubby as mommy and daddy. Our pets have portraits on the wall right with our human children too.
Hubby's aunt calls her kitties cousins to our children :)
You are so not crazy for that!

Our dog is like our baby. He knows our names as mommy and daddy. You're not alone and there's nothing wrong with it.

that's a very common thing among pet owners that love thier pets. I call my dog and cat my children and refer to myself as thier mom.

My cat is my kid, and no one makes fun of me; we are lucky to have something/someone to give unconditional love to!
