Hi I have good results from neurontin, for on going neck and shoulder problems. I have had no side effects, the good side to this drug for me is that my tics have settled, and my hubby and I are getting much needed sleep, instead of being constantly waken to my massive tics. Bonus! But I do only take this drug when I know I don't have work or only at night.
Neurontin is used for partial epilepsy and also been found to help with postherpetic neuralgia, reducing the pain levels. It is also used for helping those who have a shingles attack, any who has had shingles will tell you they are jolly painful.
The side effects can be dizziness, weakness or feeling drowsy, and care should be taken until you know how Neurontin will affect you.
If you want to try Neurontin then try it when, you have no work or have to drive any where.
I found a use full link, which you might like to check out
Good luck

I have been on it for seizures for 12 years or so. I have had seizures for many years, and have taken many meds, and still had seizures at least 1 - 2 x/month before Neurontin. When I started it, it was like a switch had been turned off, and I haven't had seizures since, except when I first started and forgot a dose once. It made me sleepy at first, but within a month my body had gotten adjusted to it and now I'm fine. The eye twitching is nystigmus, and occurs if your dose is really strong. I take 300 mg 3 times daily, and am fine. My mother in law is a diabetic, and takes a lower dose for leg and feet tingling and pain, and she has no side effects. You can always just try it., but give it time - I'd sy at least a month. If you can't tolerate it, tell your doctor. There are lots of other things that can be tried. Keep in mind, everything has side effects - food and drink as well. Look at coffee.

neurontin (gabapentin) can be used for neuropathic pain.....i have several patients on it.......some with good results, some not so good. trouble with neuropathic pain is that traditional analgesics don't seem to work. gabapentin has a wide therapuetic range - to minimize side effects you should start at a low dose and slowly increase......the side effects that you are citing (dizziness, etc) normally go away after a few days of treatment.
neuropathy

I know someone that took the med and had a few hard days with dizzyness and being sleepy and out of it. The higher the starting does the stronger your symptoms may be.
Can you take it at bedtime?

IF YOU ACTUALLY TOOK THE TIME TO READ THE SIDE-EFFECTS ON EVERY MEDICATION THAT YOU HAVE EVER TOOK, EVEN A COLD PILL, YOU WOULD SEE THAT IT PROBABLY READS LIKE THE SAME THING AS YOUR NEURONTIN. DONT BE SCARED OF YOUR MEDS. A VERY EDUCATED PERSON GAVE THEM TO YOU.
