Only if you get caught. It is pretty easy to trace your IP address. Every computer has an unique IP address, think of it as a mailing address for your computer. In many cases, the movie industry (i.e. MPAA and RIAA) have been very successful in tracking down the IP addresses of those who downloaded from Limewire. However, last month, there was a landmark case in which a young woman was accused by RIAA of downloading pirated songs off a P2P network. RIAA argued that they were able to track down her IP address and therefore she was guilty of piracy. However, the judge ruled that having just an IP address was not enough to convict her. The judge ruled that they needed proof that she was on the computer when the alleged songs were downloaded. As a result, MPAA and RIAA has been very unsuccessful in proving their cases. They can accuse you but they are very unlikely to win a lawsuit.

NO, you won't. You said it yourself, they are "unlicensed". If they're not licensed, then no one can try to arrest you for it.

An example of an unlicensed song would be anything by Beetovhan or Mozart

The thing people get busted for is offering songs, not downloading them.

It will depend on what country you do this in and how much attention you attract. If both these are high, then you need to hide your use of the Internet by being anonymous.

no you want...that is arrived from when certain music companies tried to shut down Kazaa and stuff because of illegeal download, and if they happen to catch you (like a .000000001percent chance) the most they might do is fine you
