I am a veterinary assistant. So you can trust what I am about to tell you. And the answer is YES. They can give you parasites, fleas, lice and even cold if you have contact with their saliva, fur or any body fluid. But unless your pet is showing bad symptoms, just wash your hands after touching your pet, and make sure that if they sleep on your bed, that its not within 2 feet of your face and they dont sneeze or vomit on you. Good luck.

Pets are basically more healthy than humans, and healthy for us! Enjoy your pet and quit worrying!!!
A pet dog is more apt to catch something from us--not vice versa
There are a few precautions--if pregnant with baby-do not change the litter box of a cat.
Dogs save lives of lots of people, suppose u have a fire and the smoke detector is electric--but the electric is already fried........that dog/ puppy will awake u- alert u and u and family will be safe! Not to mention if intruder entered your room, the dog would jump and go for the juggler.. Dogs r special, Cats too in their own way.

yes..there is a risk depending upon the virus of the pet. For exsample I know a elderly woman that has a poodle,he was quite old, however he had some sort of diesease that had live maggots eating off his liver (which is a vital organ). At night when the dog slept with her sometimes these tiny maggots would fall from its mouth and onto her sheets. Not only is that disgusting I would also consider that a health hazard as well as the Vet thought.

What are you talking about? If you're talking about having your cat sleep in bed with you, there should be no problem? If you're talking about anything else, see a therapist!
