not an expert but have heard it is a sign of depression.....or perhaps boredom.....? Lots of self help books that address this...there's a great one called, "Excuse me, your life is waiting." the author is Lynn Grabhorn.....good luck..

I think sighing sets off other people. My ex did that and it had a bad effect on me. His depression was not managed as he refused treatment. Every sigh he took reminded me of how unhappy he was and how unable he was in coping with life.

Not good. Something is bothering you and you need to find out what it is. We store emotions in different organs; sadness is stored in the lungs. When you sigh a lot, you might be trying to let out something that is stuck in your lungs. Just a thought.

Why not? my neighbor does it all the time. It relieves stress, etc. sort of like deep breathing in a way. Relaxes you. Just don't be annoying to others if ya do it too loud.

there's nothing wrong with it. I would think it would be good for you, like deep breathing excercises
