This sounds like separation anxiety. Are you away from home more often then you used to be? Have you been paying as much attention to your dog as you were? Do you have a new animal in the house? All of this things can cause separation anxiety. I think your dog misses you and is acting out. I know sometimes it is hard to come up with the time, but if you can, try spending more time with your dog and see if it helps.

Has anything changed in your household? New members around? new pets? Has your routine changed? Are you spending less time with her?
Best idea right now is to keep your dog put up in the bathroom with a baby gate over the door or in a kennel. I prefer the wire big cages where they have plenty of room.
Try spending more time with her and taking her for walks.
Also, talk to your vet about it and make sure there are no medical issues going on.
have plenty of dog toys and bones around also for her to chew on, if you see her chewing on something she shouldn't... take it out of her mouth and switch it with something she CAN chew on.

she could be missing nutrients...or is hungry. my dog goes through the trash when we miss a meal for him. he'll eat anything and will even try to eat tin foil...also, what brand of food is your dog on?....if she is on a store brand switch her gradually to Purina, Iams, Eukanuba, Science Diet, or any other high end dog food...the store brand food lacks vital nutrients for your dog. Goodluck!

it sounds as though she is acting out, either from a change in the house hold, or a change in your work schedule.
try putting her on a regular play schedule and a little cuddle time on a daily basis. You could also confine her to one room while gone till this behavior stops.

My guess, is that she is lacking the attention she wants from you. Do you have a new situation that keeps you away more? Or a new person you are dating? New pet in the house? Be sure to remind her how important she is, by giving her more attention!

Supposedly, pets (specifically dogs) chew up their owners' stuff because they miss their owner.
