I feel exactly the same way as you. Church seems to miss the point. I believe God is faithful in the long run, but it seems as though he's not there for you and me most of the time. However, I will not lose my faith. I know He has big plans that you and I cannot even begin to imagine. You are not alone. It's hard to love someone you cannot see: cannot have a conversation with. Be patient. It will be worth the wait.

I think that you have been told a seeker friendly message and did not get the full truth of the Gospel. Let me ask you, did a preacher tell you all the benefits of being a Christian, explain the love of God and that He doesn't want anyone to go to hell so He sent His Son to die in your place? Did he also say that if you didn't know where you would go if you died tonight to come up to the alter, pray a prayer, then you would be a Christian?
if that happened you only got half the gospel. During Jesus' ministry on earth people would approach Him and say, "what do I need to do to follow You?" and He would constantly say, "deny yourself, pick up your cross, and follow me." Have you truly repented? Repentance literally means to lay down your rebellion against God, turn around and run the opposite direction and run!
Have you picked up your cross? In galations Paul said that he was crucified with Christ, he no longer lived but Christ lives in him. You see, in romans 8 it says that there is no condemnation for those who walk according to the Spirit, and not according to the flesh. the flesh speaks of all those things that you think, you want and you feel. in order to walk according to the Spirit you must first be baptised in the Spirit (acts 2), then you must bear the fruit of the spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Gal 5:22).
in order to bear fruit you must be connected to the vine. John 15:4 states: Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me
Read that whole Chapter.
Finally, are you part of a church? 1 john 1:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
If we walk in the light THEN we will have fellowship with other Christians i.e. the church. As this occurs the Blood purifies us from all sin. if we don't have fellowship with one another, then we are not walking in the light and the Blood is NOT purifing us from all sin.
There, I hope this helped you.
God bless.

First, I wish to say you will probably not like this answer. Maybe you are missing something because it is not the right faith or the church you are going to is not encouraging what makes a faith truly yours. Seek a connection with your God. If you can not find one, try seeking a different path to Him/Her/It.

God wants and needs you. He needs you to love him, and he needs you to love your fellow men and women and help them. He has a plan for your life. It involves a loving services for him here on earth and a wonderful life together with him after death.
This was what God did by letting Jesus die. Through Jesus' pain and suffering, the penalty for your and my inadequacy was paid.
What remains is simply to say thank you. God made the ultimate sacrifice for your sake. Even if you had been the only person on earth, Jesus would still freely have died for your sake.
if you feel there is something missing you can email me and i will gladly talk to you about this...softballskills20@aol.com

Jesus is the son of God. God sent him to die for your sins. So that you may be forgiven and be saved from them. You must accept Christ as your Lord and Savior in order to be a Christian.
Are you interested?
It is a very simple process to become a Christian.
All you do is say the following prayer:
Dear Jesus,
I know I am a sinner. Lord, please forgive me for the sins that I have done. Come into my life and be Lord over it. Help me to seek and know your ways.
In Jesus's name,
Amen.
That's it! If you do decide to say this prayer, PLEASE email me and tell me about it! I'd love to answer any other questions that you have!

Greater love hath no other man than he who lays his life down for his friends. We are all friends In Christ and he is the only way to God. God deserves our love because of the many things he has blessed us with.

It sounds to me like you need to pray and seek God more tenaciously. Have you had others pray for you. Neil Anderson has two books I would reccommend: "Victory over the Darkness" and "Bondage Breaker." Both are outstanding and should be read in the order I posted them. You are in my prayers.

Why should you love God, That is something that is very directly between you and thee..............I know that I love Jesus because of what he did for me and you, he gave his life that I a sinner might be saved. He walks with me daily, he watches over my family. When I have things that are too large for me to handle I turn them over to him...........He places his hands over me and make all things right........
God Bless
