So I work out practically everyday and I watch closely what I eat. My big problem now is that I cannot for the life of me eat a minimum of 1200 calories per day. I consume around 900. I really want to lose weight, but how is my caloric intake dampering my weight loss? Am I still losing weight, or no? Suggestions would be very helpful.

You should be consuming more than 900 calories per day.....instead of focusing on weight loss as an objective why not look at your over health and fitness level? Build muscle, improve cardiac performance.......by eating less than 1200 calories per day your body is not getting the energy it needs......not healthy in the long run. How to consume more calories? Seems simple, but you need to eat more....lean protein, complex carbohydrates, fruits, veggies.....doesnt have to be McDonalds......

You will still lose weight, but your body NEEDS atleast 1200 calories a day just to function.

You may not be eating as much because when a FIT person exercises, their hunger decreases.

Working out practically everyday... very good, but not very good for the body. Your body needs to rest and recover. Try to take atleast a one day rest once a week, or else you'll lose all the muscle you have and just be left with fat fat fat, and that's diminishing the purpose.

If you want to up your caloric intake, try adding another serving of veggies or fruits to your meals. Add another serving of protein, or another snack. Try eating 6 small meals a day, if possible, or 5. There are no one set of guidelines for every person, so listen to your body.

If you continue this way of eating and exercising, you will NOT be lean but have more fat than muscle, and be a FAT fit person.

Losing weight isn't that hard, it's a game of calories in vs calories out, but what you want is a healthy body that can make it through the years, right ? I hope so, because if not I just ranted for nothing.

Try to eat a minimum everyday of 1200 calories, and try to rest your body atleast one day. Your performance will eventually decrease.

One more thing, are you eating enough GOOD carbs? (Complex carbohydrates, whole grains) If you're exercising, you definitely need them.

How can you NOT be able to eat 1200 calories a day? The fewer the calories you take in, the lower you metabolism will go... almost as if your body is in "starvation mode". One peanut butter and jelly sandwich will give you about 350 calories.... use whole wheat bread. Peanut butter gives you fat content and protein, and the jelly is fat free.

Your caloric intake is way too low. This will reduce your ability to lose weight. Try a protien shake to increase your calories.
