It's only natural that you feel this way. You start to forget the reason why you want to break up and instead you just remember the good times.
But if you want to break up with him then you obviously have a good reason, so I'd say finish it. You'll be upset for a while and think about getting back with him but it will be better in the long run if you end it. Good luck.

History is not enough to hold you together, and you say youv'e been thru a lot.Iv'e done this, and in the long run it has made it harder for both and kept me from better things. It takes alot of strength to let go,but only then can you go after what you truly deserve. You are also shortchanging both of you by staying out of responsibility(to a relationship),fear(of moving on/hurting him),and history(where's the true love there?)Good Luck!!

well unfortunately you can't have both... so if you think that you can work it out with him, then give it another go...but it's not fair to either of you if you stay in the relationship when you know it won't work out... you have to ask yourself where you think it's going... and if you do decide to break it off, then just be very polite about it, try to still be friends, and do it sooner rather than later...just get it over with. it's sweet of you to feel bad, but you gotta do what you gotta do. good luck.

Well you must have a good reason for breaking up with him? I think it would be worse staying with him if you were unhappy and you don't love/like him as much as you use to. Move on so he can move on and find someone who wants to be with him.
Everyone has good memories in all relationships but you'll also have good and sometimes better memories in others.

We all need to love and to be loved.
Most of our issues could be solved fairly easily, if we have our loved one supporting us.
If you are hurt by a former ex, well you just need to get yourself up and start searching for someone who deserves your love.
Don't ever be shy .. that won't ever help you .. and you'll have lots to lose. Do what your heart tells you it's right.

What you need to do is take some time away from him. Take as much time as you need and if he really loves you, he will understand. But yeah, just take some time away from him and experience life without him. Then you can make the best decision from there.

the best thing to do is break up with him if you are starting to second guess yourself. longer you stay with him harder it is to break it off. it will always be hard if you have been with someone for awhile but if it is not working out try to be nice and gentle and say goodbye.

ask yourself this: what are the reasons to break up with him? would it be worth it to dump him? if the reasons are valid then dump him. if you are just bored then let him down gently. if your just making excuses to be single then why did you go out with him to begin with? it all comes down to is it worth it. once you understand that you can make up your own mind.
