Good question.
Yes, sleep deprivation can affect your weight. There have been many studies that have come out recently that say lack of sleep can actually up your chance of gaining weight, not losing it.
Sleep is benefitial to the body, and it doesn't just affect your cravings. It affects mood, performance, and your brain.
Sleep atleast 7-9 hours a night for optimal health, and set a schedule. It's optimal to go to sleep at the same time everynight and wake up at the same time everyday.

Yes, you can easily gain weight when you aren't getting enough sleep. Our brains require tens of percents of our daily caloric intake, and when you don't sleep as much, you need more energy to keep your brain working because its working harder just to do everyday tasks. Also, when someone is tired, they tend to lounge more.

Absolutely. Your body needs to time to recharge and rebuild cells when you sleep. Not getting enough sleep can effect muscle gain and the digestion process.
