I know that my grandfather, Harry Wichryk, now deceased, was a paratrooper and that he jumped the day before D-Day (D-Day minus one). He lived through WWII and passed away only a few years ago but rarely talked about his service. I'm assuming he was in the 101st, but I am desperate for more information and I would love to find a list of all members of the 101st at this time. I would like to try to trace his path through France. I at least want to find a roster of the 101st at this time. How can I find more information about this?

you could contact the National Archives or the DOD but the arichves is your best bet and you can get them online i think at http://www.archives.gov/ they can give you service records click on Most Requsted: Military service records and follow the instructions there i am sure they will be abke to tell you what unit he served in

Out the explication that you give I have the impression that he was part of the pathfinders ( D-Day minus one ) .When that impression is correct it will make it a lot easier to track because the pathfinders where a small special unit

You can contact the Department of Defense, Veteran's Administration, or your member of Congress.
