The only things a human really needs for survival is adequate food, clean water, and shelter. Clothing is a major plus if you live in cooler environments. Everything else is a personal want, yet we are all convinced those things are needs.

Firstly the first person to answer this question should grow up and learn to take responsibility for his/her own actions and the world around.
Secondly there is very little we cannot do without, our cars, our electric appliances, including TV and a computer.
Our basic needs are sustenance and shelter full stop
