My four year old male is named Corpsy...PRONOUNCED COREY!!!
I named him that because I found him and his four siblings on Army Corps of Engineers land while I had a friend of mine with me who is an ACE Officer. I was showing my friend the remains of some poached deer. Corpsy is the runt of the litter but has grown to be about 18 pounds!
Thank God I was able to find good 'forever' homes for his siblings!!!
My poor Leo was named that because at the age of four weeks old when he was abandoned he looked EXACTLY like a mini lion cub. He was also born under the Sign of Leo. I had to put him down last year as a 15 year old with hypothyroidism. :((

I've had cats around since I was about 2 years old. Fluffy and Smoky (Persians, both) were the first. Then came Tuffy; the poor thing was named after a tugboat in a children's book, but he didn't seem to mind. Mittens was a polydactyl tiger (extra toes on all his feet, and white mittens, too.) Snowball, of course, was white and round. She ate so much and grew so much that we threatened to change her name to Snowdrift, but we never did it. Rumble, naturally, had a very loud purrrRRRrrr that was easily activated. Then came Minou and Gatito. My sister and I were taking French and Spanish in high school when we got two new kittens. We wanted to name them the French and Spanish equivalents for "heeere, kitty, kitty!" Minou's name is just that, but my dad wouldn't have a cat in his house named something that sounded like "Meece," so we settled on "little cat" in Spanish instead. Gatito never seemed to mind much. Then came Sandy, and Scooter, and Trouble, and a whole bunch of others.
While I was doing summer theatre, a stray kitten liked the looks of our props tent (lots of soft furniture and nice people coming in and out all day) and moved in. Since only props were allowed to be kept in that tent, the props manager quickly named the kitten "Props," so it could stay.
If I'm in a situation where I can get another cat anytime soon, I think I'll name her Dha Kheety, since that's what I call them all the time anyway.

Kinsey is an orange tabby and that is a family name (we have lots of blonds and redheads in our family) Spookie was adopted at the same time as Kinsey. He was a few weeks younger and had these big blue eyes and always looked a little "spooked".
I name Sylvie Sigourney because she is long and slender with really long legs like the actress. She didn't like being called Siggy however and she agreed that Sylvie was an acceptable name.
When I was in Guatemala and staying at a river hotel a cat named Mincho came to share my chicken every night at dinner. When I came home and got a new kitten I named him Mincho.
When Amber came into my life she was supposedly a neutered male kitten named Pedro. I renamed "him" Sullivan. Then of course I found out he was a girl and I named her Amber for her amber eyes.
Cameo came into my life when she was 15 years old. That was her name and I liked it a lot and wouldn't have thought to change it as it suits her so well. She is 22 years old now and still plugging along happily through life.

I have two.
I have a medium haired black and white cat with the longest fluffy tail ever! he looks like a colobus monkey. I named him Oscar Mayer... It just sounds good to say. but, all of my pets have nicknames too. His nickname is Baba, I don't know why, it just came out one day when I was calling him, and there it is.
My other kitty is Ivan. My old roommate worked at an animal clinic and brought home two desperately sick kittens. They were near death, and couldn't get enough personal care at the clinic. We had a spare room, and so we took on these kittens. Ivan is fluffy white, with gray patches. The gray patches have stripes. He has a long fluffy gray tail, and looks like he's from Siberia or something. Because of that, i thought he deserved a russian name. His nickname is Ivan-chick, or Chicken little...I believe his growth was stunted because he was so sick as a baby.
I also have to pay homage to my old cats who are no longer with us...
Tigger was my first pet- a grey tabby. I was young and that was the best name i could come up with at that time. :) I loved that cat. He died two years ago from cancer.
The other one was Binks. Also a gray tabby...Binks was kind of flighty, but he had a very quirky personality, and the name just seemed to fit him. He had nicknames like Binky winky, binkers, binksy, etc... Binks disappeared one day and never came home again.

We have two cats, one is named Pepsi and the other one is named Fizz.
Pepsi we got from Lollypop Farms and she was named that when we got her. But we named the other one Fizz cause we thought it would be neat to have two cats called Pepsi, Fizz. We could have named Fizz, Coke and had Pepsi Coke. :-) It doesn't quite work. LOL
The reason we got Pepsi was cause my Husband had a dog named Pepsi so we had to get her, also she was born the day after my husband was born, a few years later though.

My cat adopted us from the Humane Society. I named him Theo.
Theo was Vincent Van Gogh's brother, and supported him emotionally and financially, which allowed Vincent to create his paintings. I have a big picture of Vincent Van Gogh's THE TERRACE on the wall in front of where I sit when I am on the computer. It is amazing, lively and full of movement, just like my cat Theo!

I had a cat for 11 years, but she got killed on the highway in front of our home. So sad, her name was gato, which is cat in spanish. Loved her so much, she was black with white boots. The name was given to her because she just looked like a gato, who knows why we name anything the way we do, all I know is I'm so sorry she is gone.

Two.
Tigger, because he's an orange striped cat and a little crazy when he was a kitten.
Satchel, He was a small, black cat that liked to be carried around. He looked like a black bag.
