Why is it that cats will always sit in your way. (in front of the computer screen, on your homework, on your newspaper, etc?)

Mine does the same thing, when she's lying down it's always on the Esc button. When she was little she sat on top of the Monitor. Although, she's only 9-1/2 mos old, she looks like she's 2 yrs old. She blocks my screen with her body. I agree she wants all the ATTENTION she can get. Probably feeding time, or playing time.

Cats are attention junkees. If you have something that you're obviously very interested in...like a book or whatever you're working with on the computer...they become jealous and want the attention for themselves. So, they literally put themselves between you and what you're focused on or try to do something incredibly cute to distract you.

I think it is because they are jealous and don't like your attention on anything else but them. One of our cats will try to attack the mouse on the screen when it moves. It is very cute!

Cat's don't like to get or give attention when YOU want to. The great thing (or annoying...depending on your view) about them, is that they are friendly on their terms! They want the attention when you aren't as willing to give it, and when they know you're busy! Then...if they get it...they've won and are in control.

Yup mine does that. that is because of fact she's no longer getting any interest. that is humorous however becauseshe oftentimes takes the mickey, pretending to be absorbed via it! Even funnier whilst she chases the cursor around!

Ha ha ha! Exactly! They do this becuase they are jealous of the Attention you are giving to your comuter, your book, your newspaper or whatever it is you are looking and looking at.

My cat used to chase the pointer, I thought it was cute.

This is often because the cat sees that you are paying atention to something else and desides that he/she wants that atention. It's ok though, they only do it because they love you.
