okay, i'm just starting to believe in god, so be gentle hehe, recently there has been alot of bad stuff going on in my life, and i sometimes feel like am trying to use god to help me get through it, even though i know deep down, that i'm beginning to believe in him, i still feel guilty, after all these years of not believing in him.
also, can the devil hurt me in any way for changing my beliefs, as i've been into heavy metal most of my life, e.g., black sabbath, slayer, the berzerker, some nile, although i have never been a devil worshipper/satanist, but i've always thought of him as more real, until recently

Wow, you've been into heavy metal and now start to believe in God. Great! Good for you! And lucky you. I had a friend from high school who became more and more involved with these things, and he was very hostile when I was mentioning Christianity to him (that is, when we rarely met) and eventually committed suicide when he was 24.
Never mind the other stuff, just run to God as hard as you can. Never mind if you feel your faith is weak: remember that man who said: "Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief" (Mark 9:24). It's normal to feel guilty about things and want to put them behind: this is called repentance (in Greek metanoia, which literally means change of the mind). And finally, you are not using God, but rather God is the only one who can help you through this. You are like the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32; better read the whole chapter) who comes back to his father's house fearing he might not be received even as a servant, and the father receives him as his lost and found son.
Yes, the devil can hurt you, if not otherwise then by giving you wrong thoughts to make you hurt yourself. Make sure you pray for God's help whenever something like that happens. Christians are under God's protection! As I said in another answer, try as soon as possible to talk to a priest and start going to church.
May God help and protect you!

I am believing since you said you are following God that you are BORN AGAIN!!!. That means recognizing Jesus as your Savior, asking God to forgive ALL your sins. If you have done this, you still need to repent for past dealings with black sabbath, slayer, etc. ask God to forgive this action and therefore all the devils' doors in your life in this area will be closed. Things as a Christian do not always go smoothly and times you will experience turmoil in your life. Jesus never promised us a rose garden. We will have tribulation through our life. The difference is with God, He will be there for you always. He will never forsake you or leave you and will stay closer than a brother. Find yourself a good bible based church and a bible study that can teach you the ways of the Holy Spirit.

Chances are excellent that you do believe in God all the time. Sometimes that belief gets covered over w/ the hassles/fears and so forth of life. Belief is a pretty tough thing. It has to be denied to depart.
The devil can always hurt you for any number of reasons, including the one you ask. The devil has the power to hurt us, but not overcome the Jesus in us.
Welcome sister/brother in faith.

The devil cannot, Cannot, CANNOT Keep you From Accepting Jesus Christ as your Saviour.
After you are Born-Again (Spirit Recreated, SAVED)
You Become a Child of GOD Almighty, and HE is a Mighty GOOD Parent to Have!
GOD REALLY Watches over HIS New Kids!, (just Like Human Beings do, or should!).
Jesus (GOD) will Never Leave you nor Forsake you.
GOD never abandons HIS Children.
Keep on Keeping on Believing in Jesus.

It is all right not to believe in God all the time. There is no need to feel guilty over your lack of faith either. God is all forgiving and all loving.
There is a lovely poem called Footprints. I think you may find it helpful to you. To find a copy, just type "Footprints. poem" in your Search bar.
I don't believe that the devil can hurt you for changing your beliefs. I have never thought of heavy metal as evil music, so I don't think you need to worry about that either.
Best wishes in your new Faith. God bless.

God doesn't "have to" be believed in... Either you believe truly, sincerely, or you don't. On the other hand, listening to heavy metal does not mean you're invoking the devil or something. You can be a good christian and still listen to Black Sabbath, or to Goth music for that matter.
And to be honest, I don't care much about religion, nor I define myself as religious. But that's how I feel about godly matters.

Your belief in God needs some good foundation so that when you talk to him you KNOW he's real, instead of just having an empty hope of "maybe he's there". When you get to know without a doubt that God is there and cares for you, nothing can come between you and God (unless YOU allow it to). This includes Satan. He'll try his best to hinder your relationship with God (using such things as discouragement or distraction) but if you are determined -Satan won't harm you because God is more powerful than he is.
If you want any more information about how to improve your relationship with God & build up your faith or just want to know where to look in the bible - then please email me - I'd be glad to help you :)

First off, don't listen to those who are answering your question by saying you don't have to believe in God at all. They are deceivers of men and are doing the work of the devil by telling you that. They are only here to discourage you because they don't believe in God,and they think noone else should either.
You are not using God by turning to Him in your times of need.He is always there for you when you call out His name. You just have to believe in Him always, and live your life by faith. There is no need for you to feel guilty. You are a new person now that you have turned to God,and if you have asked for His forgiveness for your sins,He no longer remembers you as you were before, but as the person you are now.In other words, you now have a clean slate to start your life over as a child of God.The devil will put obstacles in your path to try to make you stumble and fall. He will do his best to get you to turn your back on God. He will work through other people to try and discourage you. Ask God for strength and guidance. Another good thing to do is to find a church you can go to.There are many to choose from, but visit a few different ones until you find the one you are most comfortable with.Gathering with others who live for God is similar to a support group. You'll find the support and encouragement you need to help get you through hard times, and you will find yourself getting stronger in your faith and drawing closer to God.Right now,you are a babe in Christ. My thoughts and prayers will be with you,and may God Bless and Protect You.

Asalam-o-alaikum [ even if u r non-muslims]
If u r a Muslim (i hope so) then i will give u an advice that ofcourse u must keep faith on Allah as u can say God.Because every thing in our life is under his control and if u keep strong faith on Allah and think about him positive then he will also help u.But if u follow the path of devil(which is the open enemy of Muslims because he wants 2 stop Muslims from right path of Allah and try 2 convince the people on wrong path like hindu who worship the severals gods & all other religions which is absolutely wrong).Allah is only one,the most gracious, the most mercifull.I hope that u will keep strong faith in Allah u will be success in every step of life. And the 2nd thing that u ask that can devil hurt u,No he can't hurt even he can't touch u if u start beleiving in Allah( the most gracious, the most mercifull) because Allah will protect u from all the bad things going in ur life.Plz keep faith in Allah which is only the one, only one.

You need to accept Christ as Saviour (I am hoping you have done so) and reject all the works of the devil. When Satan tells you what he can do to you ... remind him that the Word tells you "greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world". When you have accepted Christ as Saviour and Lord then you are indwelt by His Holy Spirit.
That does not mean that everything is going to be a "rose garden"; there will still be thorns along the way.
And certainly Satan can TELL you many things ... remember, though, that he is a liar. He may be powerful, but the Holy Spirit is Totally powerful (omnipotent).
