Read this book. How to get kids to eat great and love it! It is written by Cristine Wood, MD. She will help in more ways than one. I can not possibly sum it all up here its 184 pgs but an easy read. The game plan rocks! My kids that are old enough to understand (6,4,2,2mos) now know the health benefits of good diet and excercise. They don't even want to put that junk (McD's etc..) into their bodies.

I have 2 suggestions:

1) Have you tried games? My sister used to play games with her son to get him to eat (he's 6 now). For instance, during dinner she would have a "contest" to see who could eat whatever the fastest (i.e. her versus her son or daddy versus son). Of course, part of the game was chewing everything before swallowing (don't want to cause choking). You could have the 'prize' be some kind of treat that you know they'll like.

2) The point system. If you have 2 kids, this will stir some fun competitiveness within them (and you could participate, too). Idea is you keep a point system on the frig or somewhere they can see it (use large poster board). Have a Sun-Sat. schedule and give them points for the amount of food that they have for each meal. Prizes could be something that they like to do (non-food related): whether that be go to the park, get a special piggy-back ride...whatever drives your kids.

Just don't feed them. Once they are starving, they will be less picky. Heck, they'll eat cat food. You'll save a few bucks too.

sprinkle a little sugar on their food at first. They will like it. Then later on, dont do it more but tell them you did. And they will still eat the food.

Just like Pavlovs dogs, a little cruel synonym, but will work.

Make it fun for them. Maybe do funny shapes with their veggies or something like that. Or maybe sing an eating song while they eat... just make it fun!
