My mother passed away last year around her birthday. She would be 50 years old this year and I am planning a birthday and memorial dinner. What are some ideas of things we could do during the dinner to celebrate her life and offer tribute to her legacy? Any ideas are appreciated. She loved butterflies...

thanks.

You know what? I think you have many ideas yourself - you express your ideas so well.

Others here have given wonderful thoughtful suggestions.

Perhaps a video of her life - scenes from her childhood if available, right through the highlights of her life with the people she loves/d.

Very creative & lovely thought. Good for you.

hi first of all i would like to say that is a great question.i lost my grandma two weeks ago and her birthday is the 30th of this month and this is something i have thought of doing also.maybe your mom had a special place maybe have the dinner there.you can buy a butterflies and release them in her honor..or maybe get alot of yellow balloons and give each person who attends the dinner one to release at the same time..i am sure she will get them....just keep in mind to make the dinner special so keep it up beat ..although i know you will be sad ,but your mom wouldnt want you to be sad..she is in a much better place.....

HAVE HER PICTURE, SOME PICTURES OF BUTTERFLY'S OR PINS, ECT. LIGHT A CANDLE ON THE TABLE. READ A POEM SHE LIKED. TELL YOUR PERSONAL STORIES ABOUT SOMETHING THAT SHE AND YOU DID IN HER LIFE. HAVE OTHERS DO SO ALSO. YOU CAN ALSO TELL FUNNY STORIES, IT DOESN'T ALL HAVE TO BE SAD. YOU COULD ALSO HAVE A FLOWER THAT SHE LIKED OR A ROSE BY HER PICTURE. SHE WAS LUCKY TO HAVE YOU FOR A DAUGHTER. HOPE THIS HELPS.
