I'm not upset (weak) - just pointing out an absurdity.

I am a Christian, and yes that is a sin. We are supposed to be respectful. That is not respectful. We are supposed to lift others up.

You didn't deserve that. Are you sure the person that said that is a Christian?

Thank you for asking this question and pointing this out. It takes strength to confront wrong.

Ok first of all, I'm a Christian, but I'm not a radical "whacko" (in response to the person above). Second of all, I dont know what the debate was about. And thirdly, it's not a sin to call someone an idiot - it's just not what jesus would do, and not what jesus would want us to do. i'm really sorry if someone was rude to you.
we should strive to be good people because we want to be good, it's not just some free ticket where if you do something bad and ask for forgiveness, you'll automatically be forgiven. that's just ridiculous. everybody makes mistakes, and god knows this. but the difference between christians and everybody else is that we have taken allowed god to enter our hearts and have accepted jesus as our savior. this being said, we strive to be good, but we mess up sometimes. however, god knows the intentions and desires of our hearts, so he knows if we truly made an honest mistake or not. if we ask for forgiveness from the bottom of our hearts and try to make a change in ourselves, that determines if we are forgiven or not.

Can someone give me PROOF that Christianity is real?
Basically I'm an ex-christian, because I began to doubt the validity of the Bible and of the whole Jesus story. But, I'm giving it a chance to be proven. But how do you prove something that happened 2000 years ago?

They were wrong to say idiot. They should have said I don't think your questions was valid because, Greek Mythology is a Myth. The Greeks knew they were just stories. The Bible is based on real events that happened with evidence to back it up.

As a Christian, I know that I don't always say or do the correct thing on a daily basis. This is why I pray every night for forgiveness and ask that Jesus help me to be a better person. I can also forgive others for things they may have willingly or unwillingly done to hurt or confuse me.

Unfortunately many people including Christians don't have much tact. Remember, just because someone is a Christian does not make them a saint. People have a perception that Christians are supposed live perfect lives. In reality, Christians are just like everyone else except they put their focus on becoming better people. Or at least they should. Like my Grand Dad used to say "a church is for sinners, not saints. But he was rude to you. Just don't stereotype all Christians as being like him.

You don't explain the details, but it is not a sin being an idiot

Some people, Christians included, get upset over things others say and resort to stooping to the level of the person asking the question. Perhaps they felt threatened and did not know a logical argument for it.

I'd say it's just an opinion, the sin comes in how you react to it. If you hate or look down on them for not being very bright then it's you that sin's. Don't let people get to you.

Yes, it is a sin.

31Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Eph 4)

9But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" 10Yet these men speak abusively against whatever they do not understand; and what things they do understand by instinct, like unreasoning animals--these are the very things that destroy them. (Jude)

We are all prone to let our emotions get the best of us....but we are still called to "aim for perfection"!
