You can extract sugar from the juices to purify into table sugar.
You can suck the juices out of sections of the cane as a kid treat.
You can burn the empty cane as fuel.

Of course everyone knows that it is used to make sugar and sugary food products, but it has another very interesting use.
In Brazil they are growing hundreds of acres of sugar cane and processing it to make ethanol....fuel for cars.
They only rely on oil for a small percentage of their fuel down there! The price of the ethanol is also about half that of gasoline there as well.
I wish we would grow some sugar cane here and make some fuel!

Sugar cane has many other uses besides the production of sugars. Molasses is a by-product of the manufacturing of cane sugar.

Molasses, left over from sugar production, has many uses. These include animal feed and fertilisers and even for adding to tobacco for hookah pipes.
Molasses, along with cane juice and other by-products can be fermented and then distilled, to produce an alcoholic distillate known as rum.
The fibrous residue of cane is called bagasse. It is used as a fuel for the generation of energy needed for sugar manufacture. It also serves as a fibre for paper.

Sugar cane features in both folk and traditional systems of medicine in South Asia. It has been used to treat a wide variety of health complaints from constipation to coughs.

Sugar cane in India mainly goes towards the manufacture of gur or jaggery, and raw and refined sugars.
It is also used in the preparation of many industrial chemicals. The rest in India is used for chewing and drinking.

In the tropics you can drink the juice extracted by the sugar cane. It's pretty good, but sweet for some people. You can also peel the otter layer and chew on it. It's quite tasty. Everything that those above said are correct too.
