Maybe she wanted to encourage you to brush your teeth more; and then to have better hygiene. Maybe she is poorer than you know. Maybe you don't appreciate the things she does give you or has given you in the past; things that you cannot put a price on. Are you close to your Grandma. What do you give her for Christmas? How old are you?

Just appreciate that she gets you anything at all. A lot of older people regardless of the money they have now remembers the times they had to really budget their money and some habits are hard to break. Plus the fact she might have no idea what things you would really like so she gets you things she knows you'll be able to use.

How old is she? Either she really doesn't care for you or maybe she has become senile. Do you know what she gives to your other relatives? Maybe someone is doing her shopping for her and taking her money by buying you crappy littles gifts.
We used to have a neighbor who gave us samples of mouthwash, shampoo and such but she was mentally handicapped and thought they were great. We always thanked her profusely to make her happy. It gave her so much joy to give these little presents.

I am going to be a little preachy here, and I am sorry, but I just have to say this. She is your grandma, and as such, she deserves your respect. That includes appreciating anything she gives you or does for you. There will be a day when you no longer have her to spend time with, for her time will be done on earth. Please, please, please learn the lessons of humility, and appreciation for what you receive and what you have. For if you learn these lessons young, you will truly be blessed for the rest of your life, no matter what happens to you. Sorry for the preachy...and it has absolutely nothing to do with religion, it has to do with being a good human being. Something we all really desparately need to be and need to have right now.

Grandmothers just come from a different time. Mine is the same way... she gives the craziest gifts. she gave my brother a be-dazzler one year. It was some crazy gadget that puts beads on your clothing. We were just laughing about that one this weekend!

She gives what she can,,now be grateful.Maybe she couldnt get out to go shopping or maybe she really cant afford it.Most older people live on fixed incomes.Be glad that you got something,,its the thought that counts.

Maybe she is testing you. Are you thankful and cheery? Do you appreciate things? Do you care about people? Maybe she will leave you the money that she did not spend on nice stuff when she dies. Things aren't always what they look like.
