Doctors recommend no more than 2-4 lbs of weight loss per week. In a month, I wouldn't go for more than 15 lbs or so. Good luck!

I was in weight watchers for a long time and 2-5 lbs in the initial weeks are normal, then 1-3 lbs each week after that. there will always be ups and downs depending on muscle gain and fat loss (muscle weighs more than fat so dont be worried if you go up sometimes) in a month 10 lbs would be good, sometimes less. but too much more can be a little too fast (you also have more of a chance of regaining if you try to lose quickly instead of having a real lifestyle change. : )

The amount of weight you are going to lose depends on the amount of exercise you perform daily and the number of calories you expend. With exercise 5 times per week burning 700 calories per session you could numerically burn 1 pound of body fat. This is of course in conjunction with a healthy eating schedule and set calorie intake. If you are training unsupervised, I wouldn't recommend losing more than 3 to 8 pounds per month. That is a easy, realistic and safe goal we can all achieve on our own. If you are following a specific diet plan like weight watchers, follow the plan but have a professional examine your fitness routine as well as the calorie intake from the meals. It is possible that you may still burn too few calories and need to increase your exercise intensity. I have included a link to a great website that can help you track both your food and physical activity so you can see how many calories you use vs. how many you eat. Then you can set up your own meal plans and safely lose pounds without starving yourself and without depriving your body of needed fuel and nutrients.

You've probably been given a lot of unnesessary advice about health and fitness, pay no attention to it. I say it varies, depending on the person. Some people may do fine at 2lbs a week, but I say 5lbs is about right. (This would also vary according to the total amount being lost). It's a lot harder to get the last 10 then the first 30 or more even off!

They say not to lose more than 2 lbs a week, so between 8-10, but I couldn't help losing 3-5 a week when I was on weight watchers, and I think I'm healthy.

I would say between 4-6lbs. I have a friend who lost 10lbs in one month doing Weight Watchers, but she was pretty chubby, so I assume her BMI was higher.

2 to 4 pounds per month. Too rapid weight loss can be unhealthy.

You should only lose 2-3 pounds per week for it to be healthy, anything more than that is losing muscle (which is very bad)

I would say 8-10 lbs if you are not thin now, but not heavy either.
