If you have a checking account, don't you also have an ATM card? That can be used instead, provided you can cover the funds of course.

A debit/ATM card would work best. You may be able to pay via 'check by phone' where you provide your checking account routing number, account number and amount of sale. The funds are directly debited from your checking account automatically. Hope this helps and a debit card is your ATM card with either the Visa or Mastercard symbol on it.
