Some of them floated immediately to the top and now taht we're eating them, some of them have "soft" heads - as though there's a lot of space between the innards and the shell of the head. Are these ok to eat?

Douglas, I put my pre-cooked snow/stone crabs in boiling water for 2-3 minutes every time, and trust me - we don't lose an ounce of flavor.

The floaters are okay to eat, but it means that they were dead before they were cooked the first time. The meat tastes a little different, but it's still edible.

If you're buying pre-cooked crawfish, you probably couldn't tell the difference anyhow... but that's what's behind the floating and the "soft" heads.

If i get pre cooked any thing I would not put it in hot water.Eather put in over covered with foil, steam for a little time, put in a skillet and heat on top of stove microwave works but never popped in boiling water all the tast that was left went down drain with the water. They are cook allready they just needed heated up not boiled to death again you got to be from Louseanna. This guy on top is crazy they are pre cooked just heat and eat.

Should be! Well, it honestly depends on how long you left them in the boiling water. The longer, the better.

Just because they are pre-cooked doesn't mean you shouldn't cook them as long as a non pre-cooked package. Read the directions on the package.

I don't think you have anything to worry about though, since they were fully pre-cooked. If they weren't and you boiled them and you weren't for sure, then we MIGHT have a problem... :)
