I don't think that there was any influence to the modern world from Ancient Egypt. at all.
Only in our modern days many artifacts exposed to several museums intrigued the interest of the public for the ancient Egyptians but due to lack of information (we still try to find out details), there is not any continuation in all human activities.

Brain surgery? Well I admit that some people, from our time, need one. I don't know if they are in need to be used the ancient Egyptian methods(????) or a modern one but definitely they need one.
We know that Egyptians were brewing beer. but we have not any details about the process. Is that an influence?

ancient egypt did definetly influence us by showing the most amazing architecture in history, some of which we can't even figure out. If it wasn't for them we would be far behind what we are today in architecture.
