I don't think I'm that bad looking, a few extra pounds, but I'm pretty clean cut clean shaven guy at 5' 10'. I think I turn girls off though because i'm pretty cautious and a little shy around people in general. But I think that the reason could be because I think too much and I don't know if girls like men who are shy thinkers. I wouldn't call myself a nerd, more like a trying intellectual who wants to have fun but needs a little help breaking out of his shell. Please help me out with this. Do I stand a chance?

Well, I'm a little older so I am attracted to quiet intelligent men. Not always, but if he's sittin in the club just chillin and keepin to himself--not all rowdy and causin trouble--that's mysterious to me and I like it. If we talk and I see he's the intellectual type, I have to get to know him for I have to have a smart man. Fun is really important and as long as I see some signs of life and personality it's all good. Don't be afraid to come out of your shell.

Yeah, I actually prefer the quiet intelligent men, I find them to be the most mature type. The loud obnoxious "hey look at me" type is the most annoying and is a major turn off. I would advise you to not change who you are, you'll find an intelligent girl quite like yourself to suit you right. You have great chances. Take care.

Absolutely! If you find the right girl, she will appreciate this quality and bring out some of the others as well. I have dated shy guys, and once they got to know me and felt comfortable, they opened up so much and we were best friends. I think it is a matter of reaching your comfort zone with someone. Just be yourself and it will all come.

I think you should look for someone who is the opposite of yourself. Someone talkative, outgoing, spontaneous is what you need to break you out of your shell.
If you go for a shy, quiet girl, who is too much like you, it will be too hard to ever get anything started.
You need a chick with chutzpa.
She's out there. Good luck.

Yes, you stand a chance. Although it doesn't hurt to work on improving your social skills. Intelligent men are a turn on.

I hate guys who talk about how they're nice and all that and how they don't have a girlfriend. Guys like you always mention how you're not bad looking and that you're smart etc etc. Obviously you're doing something wrong cos hell, you sound good on paper don't you. Get over yourself. They probably don't like you cos you think of yourself as being TOO good looking and TOO smart. So in short, you don't have a chance!!
