No, that's totally normal! However it might mean that you're not getting enough sleep at night. Try to go to bed earlier at night and see if you're less tired in the afternoon. Good luck!

You might end up feeling better if you skip the nap and then go to bed earlier. Your body needs a long period of sleep during the night to go through enough sleep cycles to rest and rejuvinate your body. The average person needs at least 7 to 8 hours a night, and if you're a teen, you might need 9 or 10 hours. And if you miss a night of sleep, it takes a month to recover!
Also, if you are still feeling very fatigued after getting enough rest for a while, I'd go see your local doctor. There could be other reasons for being so tired, including anemia or hypothyroidism.
And it never helps to take a multivitamin supplement, exercise, and avoid too much sugar!

hello :) what seems a bit worrying to me is not that you take a nap every day, besides i am from Greece and almost everyone takes a nap here early afternoon (some believe that this may is due to our :heavy: cuisine) but it is considered normal. The most common reasons for waking up tired is 1. not sleeping well during the night and 2. depression. not sleeping well doesnt mean only that you re not having enough sleep but it also means bad quality of sleep. this in turn may be caused by a variety of factors, from simple practical things like bad type of matress or pillows, to serious medical conditions like not being able to breath well during your sleep (if you are obese or snore during your sleep this may be a factor you should check). Depression is characterised by a more general feeling of luck of energy and ofcourse by feeling depressed, in a bad mood most of the time. I assume this is not the case here because from what u say u feel better after the nap so i guess it just means u need sleep. Anyway, i dont know for how long this is happening but if this persists (waking up tired after 8 - 9 hours of sleep) it would be better to consult a doctor just to make sure there is nothing to worry about.
take care :)

Not really. I used to do that in high school, and it did not have any negative effects on my health or work. I think it actually helped because I needed the sleep, and after I woke up I could concentrate better through the rest of the day.

When you nap for more than 30 minutes you enter into REM sleep. That sleep can disrupt your sleep later on when sleeping overnight. I'd recommend you shorten your naps to 30 min. and go to bed a bit earlier.

Nemo, everyone's body is different. If you feel like you need a nap then take one. As long as you are sleeping well at night.

No, if you can sleep. Your body is smart and is telling you that you need rest.
