I do believe that in school they start doing this around 5 or 6 grade. I however would start talking to my children when they start having questions or going through puberty...Which ever comes first.

Introduced in public school at Grade 6, which also happens to be about the same time they start to become curious about it. If they ask about it before that time, tell them.

My experience, though limited, is they introduce sex education in schools around the time most children reach puberty, age 12.
I believe in answering childrens' questions honestly and age appropriately. That is the parents discretion. Children are naturally curious and when they seek answers it is best for the parent to ensure they get the right answers, again age appropriate. Trust your instincts, you'll be fine.

I found it was best to wait until they asked about it. Around the age of 4 or 5, most children will want to know where babies come from. Instead of throwing the whole thing at them all at once, it's best to give them bits of information as they ask for it. It's not such a big deal that way, and they acquire a feeling that it's all very natural.

5th or 6th grade sounds waaaay too late to me! Kids are curious at an early age; by the time they're 10 they have probably heard it all from their peers already. Instead of planning the formal "talk," just answer their questions as they come up. Keep the answers simple but honest when they are young, and keep them age-appropriate as your kids get older. Kids are entering puberty earlier and earlier these days, and they are surrounded by sexualized images, so if they haven't asked by age 8 or so, maybe it is time to have a little heart-to-heart.

When the 1st ask, or if a pedophile is in the neighborhood! Keep it simple. Be sure that strangers are not to touch in certain places.
Mine was in grade school, about 5th grade, must of been like 11 or 12 years old.

Schools usually start teaching that around the 5th grade. I wouldn't go into an in depth explanation though until your child starts asking about it. And then, just answer the question they ask you. Don't explain too much or you might freak them out before their ready to know. Good luck.

we've being having small talks like this with our infants for a on the same time as now : no longer the birds and the bee's in specific yet others components suited to a 7, 5 & 4 yo. it will via-pass various awkwardness i think of whilst they are older, and it will better than possibly lead them to sense greater tender to disclose to us, and for us to believe in them.

Whenever they ask questions. I think in school they don't talk about it until 7th grade. These days you don't want to wait that long. By 7th grade alot of kids are already sexually active in some way.
