Plenty of the advice people give here says that if she always smiles at you, it means she likes you... Maybe I'm insane, but is it not possible that she's just a nice person?

Yes, it's possible that she is just a nice person. The thing would be to check, does she smile at most people or does she make eye contact with you in particular. Does she look at you until you return the look and then she looks away? If she gives you a little gift or offers to do a favor for you, then that's a pretty good sign. Maybe she asks you lots of questions about yourself and drops hints about what she likes to do. She might say, oh, have you seen the new such-and-such movie? I hear it's supposed to be good. That's your opening to say, no, I haven't seen that yet, but I'd like to- would you like to go sometime?

LOL - smiling is a sign, but it depends on how she smiles at you you see!!
More signs -
She laughs at your jokes - even if they aint funny
She likes to be around you all the time
She would help you out if needed
She flirts - maybe something she does with her mouth like bites or licks her lip, plays with her hair
She could also try to mock you - in a playful way
I hope some of these give u ideas.

There are two kinds of smiles...one is where it looks like shes saying "oh your hot, im definitely liking you" and the other is where it looks like shes saying "hey im just smiling to be nice, I already have a boyfriend and don't have any concern for you" If you look hard enough you can tell the difference.

I guess it depends on the kind of smile she gives you. If it's like a pitiful smile or a " uh I'm trying to be nice to you without punching you in the face" kinda smile, she doesn't like you. But ya if it's a sweet smile it probably means she likes you. I mean I wouldn't smile to a guy that I would want to like me. Are you gettin me???

Most people smile if you smile at them. It doesn't mean they are interested, it just means they are polite. Now if she goes out of her way to do something nice for you, then she may be interested.

Dude, you can feel it. Ever hear that saying, sparks flew? There is something about the way she looks at you and smiles at you that you just know she's interested in you. Happens to me daily, dude.

um......u have a point there. Well.....normally a girls looks at u often. She's always looking for a chance to take a look at u.....and she might stare. SHe might fiddle with hair, bracelet, hair......anything. If u do like a girl just to up to her and ask her out or tell her ur feelings....GOod Luck!!

well if her mouth never closes, she probably has jaw problems.
if she smiles very often, that could be a sign
if she smiles once a day, then don't count on it.
