I find the story of Jesus forgiving the woman caught in adultery comforting. I love the line He says - Woman where are your accusers? Has no one condemned you? Neither do I. Go and sin no more. I think this shows Jesus' compassion and concern for her. The Law stated that she would have to be stoned because she was caught in the act of adultery but Jesus asked those who would carry out the sentence if they were sinless and of course not one of them would or could throw out the first stone. It was a tender act of forgiveness of the Savior and I find it comforting because Jesus came to fulfill the Law and forgive us our sins by His grace.

The Mary Magdalene scene. Perhaps because even though adultery and fornication are sins, the image and words associated with it teach how in Christs teachings , mercy trumps judgment with the admonishment to sin no more. An excellent picture to apply to ourselves and to others.

The most wonderful image of forgivenes is the image of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ suffering and shedding his blood for us on the cross. why is this comforting? I looked into the mirror of Gods Law (ten Commandments)
I realized I had broken many of the Commandments a multitude if times, i had lied stolen looked with lust and blasphemed Gods name. i realized the penalty of my sins is death and Hell, and I couldnt but think of my fate on jugement day. but ehn the great news came, Jesus christ suffered and shed his blood there to pay the penalty for my sins. I broke the Law, but Jesus christ payed my fine. I rpeented (apoligized anf forsook my sin) and I put my full trust in jesus to save me, and he did. today IM a Born again christian, with heart and desire made nwew and comitted to serving the Lord. Not because im a Good person, but because God loved me enough to save me from my eternlal fate in hell. I serve him out fo great gratitude of his Love that was showmn, in that image of time that my saviro suffered and died.

God Bless

PSALM 23 -- The Lord the Shepard of His People A Psalm of David The Lord is my shepard; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in greenpastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever. Because the Lord is with us until the end. All knowing and forgiving.

Mary Magdolean was caught in the act of adultery, and the men of that city were going to stone her to death, they took her to Jesus to see what he would do, and he said let him without sin, cast the first stone, and he bent down and continued to write in the sand, and when he looked up, her accusers were gone, Jesus asked her where were her accusers, she said there are none, he said, Neither do I, GO and sin NO MORE. .... Wonder why they didn`t bring the man she was caught with, so he could be stoned too? were quick to point fingers at someone doing wrong, when we are guilty of doing wrong also.

"At that time the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jephthah, and he went throughout the land of Gilead and Manasseh, including Mizpah in Gilead, and led an army against the Ammonites. And Jephthah made a vow to the LORD. He said, "If you give me victory over the Ammonites, I will give to the LORD the first thing coming out of my house to greet me when I return in triumph. I will sacrifice it as a burnt offering."

"So Jephthah led his army against the Ammonites, and the LORD gave him victory. He thoroughly defeated the Ammonites from Aroer to an area near Minnith – twenty towns – and as far away as Abel-keramim. Thus Israel subdued the Ammonites. When Jephthah returned home to Mizpah, his daughter – his only child – ran out to meet him, playing on a tambourine and dancing for joy. When he saw her, he tore his clothes in anguish. "My daughter!" he cried out. "My heart is breaking! What a tragedy that you came out to greet me. For I have made a vow to the LORD and cannot take it back." And she said, "Father, you have made a promise to the LORD. You must do to me what you have promised, for the LORD has given you a great victory over your enemies, the Ammonites. But first let me go up and roam in the hills and weep with my friends for two months, because I will die a virgin." "You may go," Jephthah said. And he let her go away for two months. She and her friends went into the hills and wept because she would never have children. When she returned home, her father kept his vow, and she died a virgin. So it has become a custom in Israel for young Israelite women to go away for four days each year to lament the fate of Jephthah's daughter." (Judges 11:29-40 NLT)

Exodus31:14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
