Please help! My elderly parents are begging me and my family of 2 adults, 1) 15 yr old, and 1) 3 yr old to come home...but all the flights we are finding on cheaptickets, expedia, etc are $2000 and we can't afford that! We have to leave after the 16th of Dec or in the evening of the 16th and return on or before Jan 9. PLEASE HELP!

Unfortunately the dates you are most likely looking at are very sold out. I respect the fact of you wanting to go home to see your parents, however this is something you should have done Months ago. You are looking at holiday travel and that should always be booked way in advance.
Prices come from availability, the less availability the higher the price. Sorry to say, but if this is what you are finding for these dates, there is no way you are going to go from $2,000 to $1,300 no matter which website you look at.
Best of luck to you, but again don't think you are going to find what you need. Can't you go another time and have advance purchase then you might have more luck?

You might check out some of the presently cheap tickets to Europe, and then hook up with some of the deals you find out of London, Orly, etc. You can check with the foreign Sunday newspapers' travel sections, most of the major ones are on-line, or at your local library. I've never been to Manilla, so don't know for sure, but if you're willing to put up with the inconvienience of changing airlines you can usually find a deal.
