You do have to wear a hairnet if you're working with food. Hair falls off your head and you probably don't even notice it. You HAVE to put all of your hair in it otherwise it defeats the purpose of the hair net. If you don't use the hairnet its considered a health code violation. Have you ever been served food and found a hair on it. Did you feel grossed out?!?

As far as sanitary reasons are concerned and it doesn't matter what food you are handling, everyone should either wear a hairnet or a cap and plastic gloves.

If you work around food, yes you have to wear a net.
Also, you have to wear ALL the hair inside the net or hat. Its a federal requirement and State also.
