No we do not get taxed on winning that are won in Canada. However if we win in the USA they automatically take 30% if you win more than $1200. We can file a USA tax report (forget the name of the form we fill out) and get the money back. There are businesses that will look after your tax form for you for a percentage of your return. well yes we are taxed, not right away we have to pay but we have to declare it as income and get taxed at that dreaded tax time...so we do not win in the end..but u could always give it to someone that u know as a gift and they could share it with u, then u wouldn't have to pay taxes cause it would be a gift thats one way to get around it.

Nope they are not. If they win in the States then they have to pay the taxes. It is kinda nice.
