I asked this question yesterday but no-one seemed to get what I meant. I go to university from 9 -6. I live in australia and it is 35 C and very hot. I probably put deoderant on three tiems during the day but I did it during class yesterday because I was 1/4 way through a two hour tutorial, the stupid buildings air conditioning is centralized so you can't change it and it is very hot. Everyone in there was sweating and I thought I needed to put some on. I can't just walk out of the room randomly and walk back in again. I am a very clean person and was comparing this something like a girl fixing her makeup in front of people. Is this acceptable considering the circumstances, if I can do it with no one around, I try to but I'd rather smell nice and look innapropriate then sit there sweating like everyone else

i'd say if you don't mind a few people wondering then go ahead! i personally wouldn't care ...it all depends on your self confidence. and from the sounds of it...you shouldn't worry about it down there ol' aussie

If your doing it quickly why not but if you think some people look annoyed ask them if it offends them this way you'll know if it doe's and why! Some one might have asthma, I get annoyed if someone sprays flyspray near me and does check if i mind first, !stly because it throws me into a coughing fit and I hate inhaling poisons so hey you know what? a rollon will not give off any fumes is small and discreet and doesn't take up much room! mitchum 24hrs lasts 24hrs and you don't stink it come in a roll-on too. It's kind of odd, but it doesn't seem inappropriate to me. If you needed to put some on, I'm sure the people around you would be more grateful that you care about not smelling like a dung heap, than if you had just sat there in the hot sun.

Hmm, very interesting question. I would ultimately come to say that it is not inappropriate. Hell, you might even have other people be like - "hey can I use that" and other things. However, given the circumstances and responses here, it would seem that someone might find it inappropriate, so you may want to leave and go to the bathroom to spray it on.

I think you worry to much about your odour!!
when you put it on in class people will think to themselves (maybe ) that you must stink
I would wait for lunch etc & do it mostly in private
If they are all sweating in class & they don't bother to spray
dont you bother
because they all will understand it is a very hot day & you are all stuck in a very hot room!!

Me personally , I appreciate the good hygiene and all but due to the fact that there are so many people with sinus problems it is probably not a good idea to do it in a closed area .

I think it's inappropriate. Your deodorant should last longer than that, even if you sweat. You might try different brands. See if some of them claim to protect for 24 hours.

very inappropriate in public. Like brushing your teeth, or adjusting yourself.
Also, I can't help but think that 3x a day is a bit excessive and probably not good for your body anyway. I live in a very hot climate so understand your issues.

bless you for your hygenie, but no sweetie, don't do that in the middle of class. that is something to be done in the bathroom, the dorm room, the locker room, even your car is fine, but not in the classroom--or anywhere in public.
its great that you smell nice and are concerned about you bo, but don't go around showing everybody why you don't stink.

Funny, I had this same question. I've done it but in karate class, yet people turn away like it's very personal. It's better than being funky.
