Evolutionary psychology suggests that women choose their short term mates for a number of reasons that are often dependant on whether they have a current long term mate and what characteristics he posseses if so.
Your scenario is simply too vauge....the doctor is 'handsome' so we can assume that he has looks and intelligence....if he is only 30 he likely has a sizeable income combined with huge debt.
The stripper is 'buff' so he also has looks and is very likely to have a good income. He may or may not be intelligent.
Your prediciament then really comes down to one of class: doctors are well respected and high ranking in the social strata while male strippers are towards the bottom.
