I work in L&D in Ontario, Canada and my starting salary was $23 an hour and now I make $27 (4 years experience, 2 1/2 at the present hospital)
Nurses in L&D tend to work 12 hour shifts (3-4 a week) days, nights, weekends and holidays, we never close!

We do get shift differentials as well an extra $1.50/hour for nights or weekends, but if your not prepared to give up your weekends & holidays not an area for you!

Salary could range from $19.00 to $25.00 an hour based on the state and experience. The typical hours are 12 hr shifts. Usually 2 days off a week. Good Luck
