Does anyone else here think Quiznos beats out Subway? Subway is less expensive and there are more of them but I think Quiznos taste better. Opinions?

The term submarine sandwich was coined because the sandwiches look something like a submarine because of the long roll. If I had to eat at either Subway or Quiznos, I would have to pick Subway. Quiznos toasts their bread too much and it tears up my mouth. Most mom and pop or even supermarket delis make far superior sandwiches than both of those restaurants...they would be my first choice.

The shape is long and thin, much like a submarine. By the way, Quizzno's makes terrible subs!

The "Sub" (salami, cheese, peppers, olives, oil) was introduced to America by immigrants from Southern Italy in the early part of the 20th century. The progenitor of the sub was probably the "muffolette".
