Me and my female cousin are both in our 20's. We have grown up together and have shared so many experiences. We are very close and in our teens we started feeling a little "love" between us and now that we are in our 20's, we are very much in love, but not many know about it because we are kind of keeping it a secret. The reason is because we think some might consider this incest which we know is wrong BUT we believe incest is only when you have sex with a DIRECT relative of yours. For example -Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, Son, or Daughter. Cousin does not fall into that category. If the majority thinks its messed up I think we'll just keep it a secret but if they agree with us (which we believe if you research it accurately, people will) then we can get married in public.

personally i think its really weird but its not incest.many cultures believe that marrying your first cousin is the only way to live.lebanese culture permits that you marry your first cousin.if you decide to marry and have children then there is no need to be overly concerned with genetic defects as marrying a cousin isnt a direct bloodline.there is no more chance of your child having a genetic defect than if u married a complete stranger who was in no way related to you.thats a big misconception.so if being with your cousin is fine with you and her then go for it.but if this isnt a "normal" thing that your family see often then expect there to be a big backlash! this will hurt,confuse and anger people.be prepared for that.so, no...its not incest but it is extremly strange!

It's really common for cousins to "fall in love." It's happened to me too so I understand exactly what it's like. A lot of it is that you have a lot in common with them, you feel safe with them, you trust them, and even the "forbidden fruit" aspect can add to it.
But overall it is not a good idea. What if it doesn't work out? Then you'll have a rift in your family. Also, if you have kids your kids would be more likely to have genetic defects and stuff. Those bad recessive genes are more likely to come out. And I think your family members might feel kind of hurt and grossed out by it, especially your grandparents because you share a set of grandparents. I think it's okay to accept your feelings and don't try to deny them, but try to keep an open mind and see if you can find other people. It will just be a better situation over all.

I have some close friends who are married and later they revealed to me that they are cousins (Their fathers are brothers) While I would never do it I have nothing against it...The two people are some of the most happiest people I have know...The only thing you need to think of is if you are planning to have kids if you get married...Some serious problems can occur in this situation...But again it worked out for my friends because they don't want children...And I will say it again...I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT...what you do is up to you...

umm is she a blood relation to you, say for instance your mom or dads brother or sisters kid, if so then yes it is incest, besides do you want six toed babies, or three eyed kids. but if you are serious about it I would suggest getting on the internet and finding out if the state you live in has a law against it, and if you do happen to get married, and have children I would never, never, never, ever bring up the fact that you are married to your cousin, jeez that is just sick I don't care how hot or how much you love her, that is just gross

Ummm.... seems that this is a very difficult situation for you and your cousin.... (especially with the fact that she is HOT)..... I agree like most people that have answered your question....... this is INCEST... but after all, you two are the ones that decide and will have to deal with the consequence.

Most states have a law against this. If she's your first cousin, then it is incest and probably illegal. But if she's one of those 3rd cousin twice removed kind of deals, then it probably isn't.

It's incest if it's with a blood relative. It's both physically and psychologically unhealthy. I honestly recommend counselling.

Seriously, depending on what state you live in, marriage my not even be legal. Is this a first cousin, second or what? This makes the difference. I believe the rules is fourth cousin are ok.
