Hm if that was the case we'd be paying an awful lot for these slaves. ;o) Clothing, food, school supplies, doctors visits, gas to run them here or there, their birth expense, and the list goes on. Chores are meant to teach your kids to be responsible so when they grow up they are not lost in the world. No parents don't have kids to be their slaves and those that do usually end up losing their kids.

No, we would have to wait WAY too long for the service. :-)
It probably seems that way, especially if your parents work and want you to help out around the house. Part of being a family member is contributing to the family, whether it's by working to pay for the place that you live - usually the parents - or cleaning up after yourself - everybody.
Having said that, if you really are being worked unreasonably, that's considered abuse and you should ask for help. If you report abuse at school, they are usually required to report it to your local child welfare authorities. But that could result in you and any other children being removed from your home while someone investigates. So it's kind of up to you to determine if what your parents are asking for is unreasonable, more than your friends have to do, or just something you don't want to do.
Good luck.

Yep, only reason I had kids...slave labor... no seriously, As parents we bust our butts to provide for our kids, so if we ask you to do a chore or two its not because we maliciously wanted a child for slave labor, its because we do need help, and it also is a great way to teach RESPONSIBILITY.

Parent/child relationships are a two-way street. How about offering to help with household chores or making the tea? Don't wait to be asked. You'll probably find your parents will respect you more if you behave in a responsible and adult manner.

People have children for all sorts of reasons: some to continue their bloodline, some to leave a mark, some to patch a relationship, but for whatever reason people have children, to the child it can seem tough as they grow older. When a parent asks you to do something, especially since they take the time to care for you and feed and clothe you, maybe if you think about it like that, doing chores wouldn't be so bad.

sometimes parents want to raise kids so they can be a family and learn the responsibilities of a parent. But to answer you question, lets just say that the kids would help their mom/dad.

well it depends on what you mean by slaves. your parents probably have you do some chores around the house, that's called teaching you how to manage a home. one day you too can have a home and you will know how to run it.

What is your definition of 'slave'? Washing dishes, cleaning rooms, vaccuuming? Those, my dear, are called 'chores'. But if your mom makes you rub her feet or feed her grapes, thats a different story.

Just be glad that you were born in this century. Imagine how hard your life would be before child labor laws!
