Just the mere fact that I have *asked* questions that relate to illegal immigration, the war in iraq, or virtually any other political issue, the majority of people's first response to me is to SHUT UP.

Why do people view these issues as settled, not up for debate, or even elligible for further discussion? Don't the solutions exist in our conversations? Isn't Yahoo! Answers! the perfect forum for such discussions?

I do not believe there is such thing as an UN-BIASED question. So I admit it; I proclaim it from the mountain-top: I ASK BIASED QUESTIONS! Still, that does not change either the validty or the relevence of my questions.

Because they honestly don't know anything on the topics. Sad, I know. I like it when people ask actual questions instead of ranting about liberals, neocons, democrats and republicans. Another reason probably revolves around the closeminded society that is evolving.

Good question. I don't mean to be offensive here- I don't really care if I am, but it's not my intention- I think that most people are too stupid to understand complicated issues such as the ones you listed. They are offended when confronted with something that they realize they are ignorant of. Even the ones that hold an opinion on a given subject are too stupid to defend their position. They are threatened when challenged, because they know that they are too stupid to present a decent retort. They, instead, insult you, and as a result no one advances in their understanding.

If people respond to you with 'shut up', they're obviously closing themselves off from debate and shouldn't be hanging around in a q&a forum. A lot of people only want their opinions reinforced, not challenged.

If you tell someone to shut up, you don't have to think, or really respond, or even exchange thoughts. The ones that are the worst with this are the Rush quoters who truly don't know or care to know the difference between Liberal, Democrat, Conservative, Neocon, Republican, and Communist. Its all just one big spit fest for them

This a free forum. Although everybody is free what to say, the views of others must be respected and must not be maligned like telling a person to SHUT UP.

yes.

However most people have no TRUE knowledge on subjects and will only regurgitate what they hear or see and do no real research. Therefore you will have people that simply cannot answer your question because they are ignorant to it, however it is this same ignorance that will drive them to make a remark instead of a statement....sad isnt it.

Looking back on your questions you are begging for attention and baiting responses.

You should think before you post and maybe go out and do something better with your time. Go read a book and get educated before you post.

Because you don't ask unbiased questions.

You ask questions not for debate but to explain your opinion. Admit it.
