I would do it pretty much the way you would word the invitiation if it was at a regular venue except for add a line saying That it's at your home. Make sure to always spell out any numbers (with the exception of the address so November 9, 2006 would be The ninth day of November two thousand and six.
Here is some sample wording:
And two
shall become one...
Mr. and Mrs. John Doe
request the honor of your
presence at the marriage of
their daughter
Janelle Doe
to
Bob Smith
as they begin their new life
together and exchange vows
on Saturday, the sixth
of November
two thousand and six
at four-thirty in the afternoon
At the Doe Residence
St. Lawrence Church
212 McNavy Street
Raymond, Illinois
Reception to follow
Happy Planning!

You can make it as simple as you want :
The ceremony will be held at the home of the brides parents and the reception will be held afterwards.
Or if you feel thats to simple you can always dress it up !
Good Luck!

Actually, crystalweddings.ca has it almost right, but, using the phrase, "The honour of your presence is requested", is reserved for weddings taking place in a house of worship. So, use something like this:
Please join
Bride's Name
And
Groom's name
as we tie the knot at our family home
Saturday, April fifth
at half past five o’clock
Our Street Name
City and State
And afterward at the reception

Keep it simple. Here is my solution:
Mr. and Mrs. Smith invite you to the wedding of their daughter, Naomi to Mr. Frank Parker on June 14, 2007, at 7 pm, in their garden.
Reception to follow.
RSVP by (date here)
BTW Congrats on the upcoming wedding.

You would just insert their name and address where the church's would be, same with the reception in the lower left corner.
