I'm a pro-life nontheist.

I believe that once a human child develops a brain, it is wrong to kill it simply to convenience the mother. That rules out nearly all abortions in the last two trimesters.

I also believe that the existence of God is completely irrelevant. The need for morality is inherent to human existence and it should be based on logic and empathy, not the mythology of our simian ancestors.

That's actually a good question. The answer is undoubtably 'yes'. As Atheists have no religious athority telling them what to think, they are free to rationalize their own values. Since people are individuals, some will choose anti-abortion values.

However, most people who have the option of thinking rationally on this subject overwhelmingly are 'pro-choice'. Not that they are necessarily supportive of abortion- most aren't. But they can see that the alternative is often worse for many people.

Yes, and I am one. While I absolutely support a woman's right to choose, making me pro-choice, I also do not agree with abortion. From the stance people have seen me take, I'm sure that seems surprising.

Pro-choice does not mean pro-abortion. It simply means respecting the fact that women should have the final say concerning their bodies. As each case is different, it is up to each woman to decide what is right for her.

There in lies the choice.

I am a atheist and while I don't consider myself Pro-life per se, I am anti-abortion. As a matter of fact being an atheist helped me reach my decision to become anti-abortion.

What do you mean by "pro-life"? I'm in favor of life especially considering the alternative. No, really, I know what you are trying to say and you answered your own question. It doesn't mean they don't exist...maybe they're just fewer in number. And so what? What's your point?

Wrong! I know very many many pro life atheists.
I know atheists who are more christian-like than so called Christians.

Yes.
Many people believe that life is very precious even when they don't believe in God.

Haha I doubt it, most of them are predictable and think much the same as eachother, most not all.

Good question though!
