i asked out my friend a year ago and she said no. do u think the fact i did it over AIM and 5 days after she broke up with her bf affected her decision to say no?

Yes she had just broke up with her boyfriend. It takes some females time to get over someone that they cared for (it was less than a week). She might have thought you were being insensitive. Give her sometime until she is ready to start dating. I know its been a year but I guess you asked at the wrong time. Ask her again but talk to her a little and then bring the subject up. You did say she was a friend right.

It could be a lot of reasons. The timing probably has a lot to do with it. She might want to take some time to be alone to get over the break up. Break ups can be really devastating sometimes and usually people don't want to rush right into something else. I wouldn't take it personally. If it is really bothering you might want to talk to her about it and she probably has a very logical explanation.

YES!!! advice to you is that you NEVER ask out a gurl in IM or in any sort of writing. you never know who is around her to affect her desision. and you should ask a gurl out in person. it's way more romantic and she is more likely going to love your bold aproach and say YES! and you should have waited @ least a weak or two. and maybe even asked her if she broke up w/ him or he broke up w/ her. because if he broke up w/ her then she is definately going to say NO! unless she uses you as a rebound.

umm YES!! a girl doesn't get over a break up that easily. I think that becasue you did it over aim could have been a bit of a factor too.

Yes! Girls need time to heal a broken heart. It was way too fast for her to move on after just 2 dayz! She obviously wasnt ready!

It could have done. Are you still obsessing about it after a year?

it's hard to say, it could definately have had something to do with it, or it is possible she just doesnt want to date you...there is no way for us to tell for sure.
