Ignore returnofk.I have hiatus hernia too and was diagnosed by my Dr but he did'nt give me any advice as to what to eat etc either, just prescribed Gaviscon.
I have had to work out for myself what I can and can't eat,if something I eat causes problem then I avoid it in future,it's a case of trial and error

Not so much the food but the posture after eating.
Avoid bending down, especially to lift and don't wear tight belt/clothes. Put your bed legs at the head end of your bed up on books (or bricks) so that the bed is at a tolerable angle.
Avoid stress and alcohol. Swig 'Gaviscon' (bought over the counter).

this is a disorder which may lead to serious stomach problems. Of course, everything that is acid-free. If you really struggle to find a right food for you just write me on smallangelika@yahoo.co.uk and I will give you couple options.
cheers, Angelika

I dont get these type of questions!!How do you know you have this condition?Let's work it out...if a doctor diagnosed you then surely he would have advised you on your diet.....if you self diagnosed then surely your capabilities stretch to the realms of finding this information from the same source that convinced you that it is indeed a hiatus hernia
Can you see why this doesn't add up to me?
