When a man continues to delve into the application of the Ten Commandments and continuously guides his life according to them along with the teaching of it's application to everyday life, he will be blessed because he is walking righteously with God. Even though we may stumble, the Lord will rescue the true believer and set them back on the right path.

The proof of what we ourselves are is also found in our expressions of appreciation for the truth, our works of faith. Using a powerful illustration to describe this area of self-evaluation, the disciple James says: “Become doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves with false reasoning. For if anyone is a hearer of the word, and not a doer, this one is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself, and off he goes and immediately forgets what sort of man he is. But he who peers into the perfect law that belongs to freedom and who persists in it, this man, because he has become, not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, will be happy in his doing it.” James 1:22-25.

James is saying: ‘Peer into the mirror of God’s word, and evaluate yourself. Persist in doing this, and scrutinize yourself in the light of what you find in God’s word. Then, do not quickly forget what you have seen. Make the needed corrections.’

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul. Ps. 19:7

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night Ps 1:2

The law of God is like a mirror that shows our imperfections, but like a mirror, it has no power to cleanse us. By meditating in the law we can see the flaws in our characters, and then, being led by the Holy Spirit, we can go to the cross for cleansing from sin and sanctification.

Using the scripture as your "eyes" to see or understand and then walking that way. That man has been crucified with Christ so that His old nature of sin is no longer running his life and he seeks to put it off and He is raised with Christ to a new life by the Spirit of God. He is now free from the dominion of sin.

The scripture is saying its not good enough to hear the word and God's commandments, but we must live them. By doing God's will you are blessed.

perfect law=Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ gives freedom, so if you look to the Law of Jesus Christ and not the old law, and continue to look to the perfect law, not forgetting the old law (what not to do), but doing what Jesus Christ taught (that was love one another) you will be blessed in what you do.
