Yes I was there and it would take more space than you have hear to tell you what life is like in Iraq but I will tell you this we are needed there despite what rhetoric is put out in this format and in the press and this is not Bushes war this is our war we can not give up what we have gained. Well i will tell you this I Know we are doing the right thing when an Iraqi came up to me while I was on patrol with my squad and said thank you for being here and for risking your life we will never forget what you are doing and will do for my country we will be free and stand proudly. that makes it worth while in my eyes. So despite all the crap people believe from the media and as hard as the mission was and is I am volunteering to go back with a infantry unit as soon as I recover from being wounded

I was there when it started, and stayed a full year without leave, without RandR, without a day off. I was a kid when I left, and my eyes where opened to a world that I thought existed only in the minds of the depraved. I believe whole heartedly now that if we do not establish a democratic oasis- friendly to the west- then the world as we know will die. They will never rest until we are no more. Islam is evil, pure and simple. They actively work to spread the chaos of their world, even at the expense of their own lives, or the lives of their children. If we don't win this war- then you can kiss freedom goodbye along with the entirety of western civilization.

When Ronald Regan walked the beaches of Nomandy he said Who were these men? They are now fighting in Iraq. I was in the first /same gulf war and know it is real and important and a real just cause. We could fight the terrorist in NY or San Fran which would not break my heart but even liberals deserve to live.

I've been there and believe in the war. though i think we are going about it the wrong way. Saddam was an evil dictator with the ability to use wmd's, even if he didn't have them at the time.
