Yes it is....the problem with people is they belive what they hear....i mean jeez Quran is written proof of what islam is read it for yourself and then point to the things u find wrong...i am sure u wont find any.If u do were always here.

Generally, Muslims are misunderstood. I'm towards the end of The Autobiography of Malcolm X and I just finished reading the part about his pilgrimage to Mecca. The way he explained how the Muslims treat one another is amazing. Islam is a very peaceful religion and their acceptance of one another is something that should be duplicated in America. How much Islamic countries do you know compared to Christian ones that have invaded places and spread colonialism?

Yes, it is misunderstood and sadly not only by non-muslims but also from Muslims themselves who judge on their own as if we don't have Quran or Hadith ... They even interpret the verses and the Hadiths without having a prior knowledge except being a Muslim !
we (Muslims) need to work very hard on ourselves to reflect the true religion in our life through our relation with God , parents, wife\husband, friends and neighbors .I think in this way , people would get what Islam really is !

Of course Islam is misunderstood, you'd have to be really out of touch with reality not to know that.
Could one of these Islamophobes please show me where in the Qur'an or Sunnah it says that:
* Islam must be spread by the sword
* Everyone in the world must be killed or converted
*Muhammad was a pedophile
*Muhammad was a bloodthirsty mass-murdering bandit
*Allah is a "moon-god"
*Allah is not the god of Judaism
Give me a break people...
I'm not a Muslim (atheist), but it's pretty obvious this stuff is total garbage

I don't think there is any misunderstanding. We've seen quotes from the Koran calling for 'infidels' - ie non-Muslims - to be killed. We've seen Muslims burning effigies, beheading, bombing and calling for people to be killed. The message of Islam seems very clear to me, and I am happy that people are beginning to wake up to what it is about.
