First, it is spelled A-T-H-E-I-S-T. Second, Earth is a two sex planet. Many we have visited have more and a few, less. The Gronfrix species has five.
Over the centuries, your planet was a curious place to visit once or twice and was not considered very interesting . Sure, your wars showed us how undeveloped you are as a species and your infantile,(in cosmic terms) dependence on god concepts does not bode well for you. We are now showing an interest in you because it is not often that we get to observe a species commit suicide. You are so close to maturing as a sentient species and it will be a shame to see you kill yourselves. There are just not enough of you becoming rational enough to force the issue. You let the least among you determine your fate, so be it.

There isn't in every life form. Some have no sex and some have both in a single creature. It evolved that way because exchanging genetic material is better for a very long list of reasons. Creatures that did it had huge evolutionary advantages over those that didn't.

The interesting thing is that the only good reason for sex is evolution. If your god made it up just to trap us in something he considers a sin that seems pretty crappy to me.

We all start out female in the womb as an embryo, but then a certain chromosome must meet at a certain time to make us male, which is why men have nipples. This is explained in the movie Jurassic park when he ask how all the dinosaurs are female.

You need to expand this question.
So what? the sky is blue? or gray? or organge? so what?
If you are asking about the wonders of nature, this has nothing to do with being an atheist.
I have 10 toes, some people have 12. so what? I am Black, others are not, my hair is kinky, others are straight, there are a number of reasons why things are as there are.

there can at times be 3 genders ...
DNA
not just male and female but sometimes also male/female
are you considering this in your questioning also
as i take it you are arguing the point for creation ... are you including those people born with both male and female organs ?

Sexual reproduction (with its exchange of DNA) arose within the evolutionary framework because it allowed for greater adaptivity to environmental pressures and so was favored in the natural selection process.

Through evolution. Everything evolves for survival. Some animals are hermaphorditic...........they're way of keeping their species going. ~~~
